Meet our College Board

Julian Denholm served within the Lutheran System for over 30 years before retiring from the system in 2024. He served as a teacher at St Martin Lutheran School Mount Gambier in SA and at St Michael's Lutheran School in Hahndorf SA before being called to serve as Principal at St John's Lutheran School Eudunda SA. Following this he was appointed as founding Principal of Living Waters Lutheran College in Warnbro in Western Australia, where he was responsible for founding initially a Prep to 7 school, shortly followed by an extension into secondary education including Year 12.

These leadership positions were then followed by appointments as Principal to Concordia College in Adelaide, Good Shepherd Lutheran College in Darwin and Unity College in Murray Bridge South Australia. In 2017 Julian was appointed as Director of Leadership and School Improvement and then Executive Director at Lutheran Education VIC, NSW and TAS. He has served on a variety of Boards, including chair of the Association of Independent Schools NT and is currently Chair of Crossways Lutheran School in Cedunda in SA.

Lester Kerber is currently Chair of the Lakeside College Board and semi-retired after more than 30 years in business management and finance within Lutheran education. His career includes leadership roles at Yirara College (Alice Springs), a developing P–12 Lutheran school in Bunbury (WA), Luther College (Croydon Hills, VIC), and as Director of Business Services at Lutheran Education VIC, NSW & TAS.

He currently provides part-time financial services to St Paul’s Lutheran Church, Box Hill, and serves in various governance roles: Trustee of the Lutheran Welfare Fund, Vice-Chair of St John’s Lutheran Primary School (Jindera, NSW), and President of The Dining Room Mission, a Melbourne-based charity. He has also served on the ASBA Victorian Executive and the Lutheran Super Board. His governance experience spans decades, both as a board member and in reporting roles across Lutheran education.

Lester holds a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) and has completed extensive leadership training throughout his career. A lifelong member of the Lutheran Church, he has been active in youth ministry across several states. He is married with three adult children and four grandchildren.

Jenny Doubleday is currently a Director on the Lakeside College board and has spent more than forty-five years in libraries and education within Victoria and the Northern Territory.

Her career includes leadership roles at Northern Territory Library and School Library Services (NT Department of Education), Library Advisor to school libraries throughout the Northern Territory and Head of Library positions at a range of education libraries (primary, secondary and tertiary) including Police, Fire and Emergency Services Academy (Darwin) for ten years and Luther College (Melbourne) for twenty years.

She has served as a member of the St Andrews Lutheran Church Child Care Centre board (Darwin) and Chairperson of the St Andrews Lutheran Primary School board (also Darwin).

She is currently semi-retired and is employed in a voluntary capacity at Kilsyth and Gladesville Primary Schools as a teacher librarian.

Jenny holds a Bachelor of Library and Information Science and a Graduate Diploma in Education. She is a lifelong member of the Lutheran Church and is married with two children and five grandchildren.
