At Lakeside College, we believe sport plays a vital role in fostering teamwork, resilience, and a healthy lifestyle. Our comprehensive sporting programme provides opportunities for students across all year levels to participate, compete, and excel.
Intra-School Sport
From Prep through to Year 12, all students take part in our vibrant House sports programme. Lakeside College is proud to have four Houses—Bunurong, Toomuc, Hessel, and Jamieson—which compete each year in House Athletics and House Cross-Country carnivals. These events encourage a strong sense of belonging and healthy competition within our College community.
Primary School Sport
Our Primary students are actively involved in the Pakenham District of the School Sport Victoria (SSV) system. Students in Years 5 and 6 represent the College at both the Summer and Winter Lightning Premierships, competing in:
Summer Sports: Cricket, Basketball, Volleyball, Tennis, and Softball
Winter Sports: AFL, Soccer, Netball, and T-Ball
In addition to these events, Primary students participate in Swimming, Cross-Country, and Athletics carnivals throughout the year.
Students in Years 3 to 6 also have the opportunity to take part in Hoop Time Basketball, a popular competition that supports skill development and sportsmanship in a fun and competitive environment.
Secondary School Sport
Lakeside College’s Secondary students compete in the Cardinia Division of the SSV system, with opportunities available across a wide range of sports. Students represent the College in:
Team Sports: Volleyball, Netball, Basketball, Soccer, Table Tennis, and Cricket
Carnival Events: Swimming, Cross-Country and Athletics
These competitions are held across four age divisions: Year 7, Year 8, Intermediate (Years 9 & 10), and Senior (Years 11 & 12). This structure enables students to develop their skills, represent the College with pride, and build lasting friendships through sport.
