Pastoral Care Across the School

At Lakeside College, Pastoral Care is a vital part of our commitment to nurturing the whole child. We recognise that student wellbeing underpins all learning and development, and we are proud to have dedicated Wellbeing Coordinators across the entire college. These staff members work closely with students, families and teachers to provide support, foster positive relationships, and promote a safe and inclusive environment for all.

Each week, students participate in wellbeing surveys designed to check in on their emotional, social and mental health. These regular surveys allow for staff to identify and respond to student needs in a timely and supportive manner. In addition, our whole school program, Wayfinder, places a strong emphasis on building wellbeing, character strengths, and a sense of belonging. This program helps students develop resilience, purpose, and emotional intelligence; skills that are crucial both within and beyond the classroom.

Lakeside College is also privileged to have access to counselling services through our valued partnership with Australian Lutheran College. The counsellors provide professional support to students who may be facing challenges or in need of someone to talk to. Through a combination of structured programs, individual care, and strong community connections, our pastoral care approach ensures that every student is seen, heard and valued.
