Primary School Overview

Line Line
The Primary School program of learning at Lakeside College aims to produce learners who have the building blocks for a lifelong journey of learning. Beginning at Prep, with a balance of tailored instruction and guided exploration, we strive to develop students who are equipped to thrive at school and beyond.

The program of learning endeavours to apply current knowledge about how students learn effectively by using strategies and approaches that contemporary research shows are most effective.

Embedded into this are regular checks of learning progress, so that individual diversity informs the differentiated instruction that is implemented. A compassionate team of student support officers works closely with the classroom teacher to provide small group support for students in need. Our Individual Differences Director analyses allied health reports, consults with parents and works with teachers to develop individual education plans for students.

Ultimately, our focus is on ensuring all our students the skills, attributes and qualities for the transition into secondary education, and their life-long journey into the future.
